Comprehensive Examinations

Comprehensive Examination

At Uinta Veterinary Services, a comprehensive examination is one of the most crucial steps you can take to safeguard your pet’s well-being and ensure their long-term health. Regular exams are also key in preventing disease or illness. The information we gather during the initial examination forms part of your pet’s permanent medical history, helping us establish a baseline for future assessments. This allows us to detect any changes in clinical signs or symptoms over time. Each complete examination includes a thorough evaluation of the legs, feet, joints, muscles, heart, and lymph nodes, as well as the following:

  • Ears: Checked for parasites, abnormalities, and hearing issues
  • Eyes: Evaluated for visual acuity, abnormalities, and potential health concerns
  • Mouth: Examined for issues with teeth, gums, tongue, and palate
  • Heart and Lungs: Monitored for early signs of disease, age-related changes, and genetic abnormalities
  • Reproductive Organs: Assessed for developmental issues and related health conditions
  • Skin and Coat: Checked for overall health, signs of infection, or disease
  • Vital Signs: Including temperature, pulse, heart rate, respiration, and body weight

We recommend your pet receives a yearly physical examination, which is roughly equivalent to a human visiting the doctor every three years. This proactive approach helps maintain their health and detect potential issues early.
